The Urban League of Greater Cleveland

CLEVELAND, OH – April 08, 2012 – The National Greek All-Star™ Awards™ announces its participation in the 2012 HBCU College Tour of one of its All-Star Partners: The Urban League of Greater Cleveland.

Through its 25th year of the College Tour, aptly dubbed “The Quarter,” the Urban League of Greater Cleveland has been instrumental in developing relationships with historically black colleges and universities across the nation. This dynamic program gives students the opportunity to actually visit college campuses, experience their rich culture and heritage, and talk to current students. Participants also have the opportunity to visit educational or historic sites, such as the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site in Atlanta.  Anywhere from 45-90 young adults have the opportunity to attend each year. It is estimated that a minimum of 50 percent of students who attend the college tour go on to higher education.*

We’re looking forward to a fun and wonderfully-educational time with all of the students,” says Tim Carthon, National Greek All-Star™ Awards™ Founder and Executive Director. “As the Urban League of Greater Cleveland tells all of their tour student participants, ‘This Trip marks the beginning of a life long journey of excitement, exploration, and discovery,’ and we’re proud to be a part of that journey with these budding youngsters.”

The 2012 ULGC HBCU College Tour will be held from Sunday, April 08, 2012 to Saturday, April 14, 2012. Some of the colleges and universities that will be attended: Winston Salem State University, North Carolina A&T University, St. Augustine College, Johnson C. Smith University, Allen University, Benedict College, Claflin University, Spelman College, Morehouse College, Clark Atlanta University, and many, many more. SEE NGASA’s 2012 ULGC COLLEGE TOUR PICTURES HERE.
