CLEVELAND, OH – November 02, 2015 – The Greek All-Star™ Awards™ today announced that Fivver®, the global marketplace for creative and professional services starting at $5, has teamed up with entrepreneur Tim Carthon to serve as title sponsor for his traveling SBI Workshop™. And, in the spirit of Fivver®, the workshop only cost attendees five bucks.

At Fiverr®, our vision is to shape the future of work, everyday,” says Adam Swart, Marketing Director at Fiverr® International. “We know aspiring business owners crave the type of actionable examples, knowledge and insights that the SBI Workshop™ delivers.  So we’re not only proud to sponsor, but Fiverr® is eager to help Mr. Carthon, through his SBI Workshops™, inspire success in these future business leaders.”

Carthon, a Cleveland, Ohio native, at-risk youth advocate, and keynote speaker, created The SBI Workshop™ (Startup Business Infrastructure Workshop) to help aspiring entrepreneurs – who live in the inner city – by guiding them from the concept to development stage of their business, right within the workshop.

Most workshops just tell you what to do to be successful, then send you on your way,” said Carthon.  “This workshop helps seedling entrepreneurs set the correct path from the outset by showing them specifically what to do.”

Carthon held his first workshop in his hometown last month and has teamed up with presenting partner Developing K.I.D.S to bring the second one to Detroit. Developing K.I.D.S Founder Kimberly Newberry said she saw the workshop as an opportunity for the families of the youth they serve, many of whom are attempting to re-invent themselves as a result of a weakened job market. It fits their mission.

This is another resource, another opportunity we can provide,” says Newberry.

The event will be held on Sat. Nov. 14, 2015 at Developing K.I.D.S. Headquarters, 22519 Plymouth Road, Detroit, Michigan, 48239 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. To register for Tim Carthon’s SBI Workshop™ visit www.TimCarthon.com.

    Tim Carthon's SBI Workshops™, sponsored by Fiverr®

CLEVELAND, OH – September 08, 2015 – The Greek All-Star™ Awards™ today announced that its Executive Director has secured Title Sponsorship for his upcoming SBI Workshop™.

Tim Carthon, a Cleveland native, at-risk youth advocate, and keynote speaker, and Fiverr® International, the world’s largest marketplace for creative and professional services, have completed sponsorship agreement for Tim Carthon’s inner-city startup business workshop.  The SBI Workshop™, which stands for Startup Business Infrastructure Workshop, focuses on taking aspiring business owners and guiding them from the concept to develop stage of their business, right within the workshop.

The biggest hurdle for aspiring business owners is fear; fear of the unknown,” says Tim Carthon, GASA Founder/Executive Director and SBI Workshop™ Creator, “Most workshops just tell you what to do to be successful, and then send you on your way.  What I do is not only remove the fear, but help seedling entrepreneurs set the correct path from the outset by showing them specifically what to and what not to do, not just telling them.  It’s all hands-on.  This minimizes future problems that can mentally set back individual business owners and potentially cause catastrophic consequences to their business success.”

At Fiverr®, our vision is to shape the future of work, everyday,” says Adam Swart, Marketing Director at Fiverr® International, “We know aspiring business owners crave the type of actionable examples, knowledge and insights that the SBI Workshop delivers.  So we’re not only proud to sponsor, but Fiverr® is eager to help Mr. Carthon, through his SBI Workshops, inspire success in these future business leaders.

Tim Carthon’s two-part inaugural SBI Workshop™, sponsored by Fiverr®, is scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, September 29-30, 2015, at the Carthon Conservatory in Cleveland, OH.  Times and tickets are available at TimCarthon.com.  To schedule an interview, Email Tim Carthon or Contact Us.

YGLP™ Students Performing at the Call & Post® Juneteenth Festival

CLEVELAND, OH – June 22, 2013 – Today, the National Greek All-Star™ Awards™ Young Greek Leadership Program™ Students performed at the Juneteenth Festival, hosted by the Call and Post Newspaper; the oldest and most influential voice for African-Americans in all metropolitan regions throughout Ohio (Watch Videos of Their Performance Here).

I was happy to receive the invitation from Valarie Battle for my Students to perform at the Juneteenth Festival. I was even happier that she and the Call and Post recognized what it was and is we are trying to do in the community with and for at-risk youths,” said Tim Carthon, National Greek All-Star™ Awards™ Executive Director and YGLP™ Founder, “And, seeing as though stepping was derived from African-Boot Dancing and the Juneteenth Festival is a celebration of African-descendants’ emancipation from slavery, it was an obvious match made in rhythmic heaven.”

Supported by a combination of public figures, educational institutions, and partners such as the Urban League of Greater Cleveland, Ohio Senator Nina Turner, the Cleveland Metropolitan School District, the Cleveland Cavaliers® through their generous donations, and the Cleveland Council of Black Colleges, the YGLP™ is a unique program created by Tim Carthon, Creator and Director of the Young Greek Leadership Program™, for middle and high school students, grades 7-12.
