The Toxicity of An Antiquated Mindset

According to the Pew Research Center, 89% of 18-29 year-olds and 82% of 30-49 year-olds use social networking sites. However, the usage percentage among older adults decreases dramatically. There are some that proclaim they will never use social media, it’s a passing phase, and they like things the way there are. What those people don’t realize is that social media is here to stay and is vital to our very economy.
According to the Social Media Marketing Industry Report, “business owners and sole proprietors Social Media Examiner surveyed use social media marketing; of those, 92 percent agree or strongly agree that it’s important for their businesses.” Social media is now used to announce weddings and funerals, give words of encouragement, and promoting business.
This form of electronic communication has replaced the ways we communicate which makes it increasingly difficult to be ‘in the know’ without it. Yes, social media has made networking, training, balancing a budget, and everyday life a little easier. Wouldn’t you agree?
