The Cleveland Council of Black Colleges


CLEVELAND, OH – July 15, 2012 – The National Greek All-Star™ Awards™ announces its newest Partner: The Cleveland Council of Black Colleges Alumni Association.

The Cleveland Council of Black Colleges Alumni Association (CCBC/CCBCA) is a consortium of Greater Cleveland, OH-area alumni and supporters of the public and private Historically Black Colleges and Universities. The primary purpose of the council is to 1.) Provide student recruitment for member institutions, 2.) Promote the advocacy and awareness of HBCUs in our community, and 3.) Support the alumni development of the local chapter, and regional/national affiliates.

The goals of the CCBC are to:

  1. Engage prospective students to consider HBCUs.
  2. Raise the awareness of HBCUs and the sustainability of the Council’s presence in the community.
  3. Support alumni development.

This partnership is another important brick in the construction of a solid bridge for students to use in order to reach and succeed at the highest levels of education,” says Tim Carthon, National Greek All-Star™ Awards™ Founder and Executive Director, “And we are glad that the CCBC is now along side us helping to build that bridge.”
